Sleigh Beds
◆
Sleigh beds are upholstered frames with a curved headboard and a matching curved footboard. On Bedwick, the Designer Ivy is the model whose product copy describes that sweeping sleigh silhouette. It can be specified with or without gas-lift storage.
What makes a sleigh bed
The shape is the point: a scrolled or swept headboard and a footboard that echoes it, rather than a flat panel at both ends. Ivy uses an upholstered panelled headboard on that sleigh outline, with chrome gliders. It is a bed frame, not a complete set — mattresses are listed separately.
Sizes on Ivy are small double, double, king and super king. There is no single in the current listing. Fabrics are the usual Plush Velvet, Teddy Bouclé and Naples colour ranges.
Storage and room fit
The optional ottoman base lifts the mattress platform. You need a clear arc at the foot or side to raise it, and the curved footboard itself adds a little length beyond the mattress. Check the product dimensions rather than working from 4ft 6 or 5ft alone.
If you like the upholstery but do not need the sleigh outline, the wider beds and luxury bed collections show the rest of the range. For size comparisons, use the UK bed size guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which Bedwick beds are sleigh beds?
The Designer Ivy is the current model described as a sweeping sleigh frame. Other upholstered beds use panel, wingback or mirrored headboards without that curved footboard pairing.
Can a sleigh bed have ottoman storage?
Yes. Ivy can be configured with a gas-lift storage base or a standard slatted or solid base.
What sizes does the Ivy sleigh bed come in?
Small double, double, king and super king. Single is not listed on this model.
Do I need extra floor space for the curves?
The footboard and headboard sit outside the mattress. Use the dimensions on the Ivy product page, not only the mattress size, especially in a short room.
Is the mattress included?
No. Listed prices are for the frame as configured. Pair it with a mattress of the same UK size.
